The Brief

AS Brief

For this AS brief, I was asked to carry out two tasks. The first task was the preliminary task, which involved filming and editing a character opening a door, walking across the room and sitting down in a chair in continuity. Following the character’s complete movement to the chair, he/she was then asked to exchange two – three lines of dialogue with another character. This task should incorporate the shot/reverse shot and the 180 – degree rule.

Main Task: The titles and opening of a new fiction film, which will last a maximum of two minutes.

All video and audio material must be original, produced by the candidate(s), other than music/ audio effects from a copyright-free source. Both the preliminary and main tasks may be done individually or as a group, with a maximum of four members per group.

Live Type (First Attempt)

This is our first attempt at the ending credits using LiveType. We chose to use this foggy background to enforce some sort of mystery and possibly establish the genre of the film.

Mind Map

This is the Prezi mind map showing our initial ideas for our film and what iconic themes of Criminal Thrillers we had considered to use in our own project.

Impression Rough Cut

Survey

This survey was used to show us something about our audience. We were trying to find what the audience thinks about the thriller film genre. We found this to be quite ineffective as the majority of people that we sent our survey to didn't actually fill it out.
